Weekend Pickups: Spin Doctor Truing Stand

This last weekend, I finally got enough time and money to pick up some new tools. The thing I am most excited about is my brand new Spin Doctor Truing Stand that I purchased for $70 over at Performance Bikes. This has been long overdue! I've been riding for three years and ever since, I have had to either take my wheels to a shop or deal with the wobble. In my commuting/mashing days, this wasn't too big of a deal but now that I trick, my wheels have been a mess (180 lbs + Stairs=Untrue Rims). Being able to ride on a set of straight wheels is amazing and its all thanks to this truing stand. My first impression was that it felt pretty sturdy and should be sufficient for what I'm using it for. In my opinion, it's low price tag and compact-ability make this truing stand ideal for home use. This was also the first time I've ever used a truing stand and I think this stand made it easier to learn. After some more usage, I'll do a little review on it!

Weekend Pickups: Fuji Finepix AX245w

I'm super stoked to not rely on my Iphone 3g camera anymore! This weekend, I purchased a Fuji Finepix AX245w, an 8gb Patriot SD Card, and some Sanyo Eneloop Batteries. Although this is no DSLR, its a handy little camera that I can take wherever I ride without being too afraid of damaging it. I'm really digging the 12 mega pixels and it's ability to shoot in HD but the portability of the camera is what I'm most excited about. With this new camera, I'll be taking a lot more photos ranging from bikes to weird people I see around town. Whatever it may be, their will be tons more photos on this blog. So far, the camera has been super bomb. The picture quality is real nice, it feels pretty sturdy, easy to navigate menu, and the battery life isn't too bad. The camera isn't all great though. The focusing sucks and the custom shooting section is poor. You can't even adjust the aperture. My box also did not come with a manual which I actually read (skim). Despite these flaws, I'm still stoked on this purchase and you guys should be stoked for the increase in pictures!

Weekend Pickups: Schwinn Pump

I've had an older version of this pump but a while back, it broke. While it worked, it did everything a pump should, it inflated my tires, it had a psi guage, and it had a crap load of adapters. Unfortunately, the faulty aspect of it was that it broke out of nowhere. Despite this, I chose to buy another Schwinn Pump from Target solely because I'm cheap. This pump was only $20 and it gets the job done. Plus, I've had Target giftcards building up in my money clip so I hopped on this opportunity. I've had a broken pump for around 3 or 4 weeks so it's going to be nice to once again have properly inflated tires. Ohh the cushion!

Pedal Hard Fixed Gear Comp

That spot looks pretty boss! I love Chacon's style it's smooth and techy. He really is a great mix of new school FGFS and old school FGFS. Other riders also seem to be copying his steeze. They're challenging his tech and spins but in my opinion, Chacon is the King of Spins! Anyone know the results of the competition?

Price Drop: Eighth Inch Butcher Completes

When you enter the code, eighthinch_build_50, you'll get $50 off! I'm a big fan of Eighth Inch for their quality, speed of delivery, and competitive prices. The Butcher Frame was one item I was really looking forward to buying but unfortunately, it came out too late for me. The frame looks super beefy and the part look like they'd hold up really well. Although, I purchased an older version of the Julian Rims and Tires were a B**** to put on. I'm also not the biggest fan of their bars. I think a bar with that little rise with a cross bar looks awkward. Other than that, the temporary price tag of $750 i pretty enticing. You can buy one HERE.

Wolfdrawn: Single Spotter 2

This second episode made me even more toked on this series! The video is almost 10 minutes long but the actual riding is like a minute something long. the rest of it is just black with a creepy voice so don't waste your time on that section.

Oscar's Eastern Mega Mix!

UK has been blowing up with edits this week and this latest one is from Oscar Khan. If you watched the previous edit, you would've seen some of the move but crazy good nonetheless! I still love that brick bank to rail spot it looks like so much fun!

Wrahw: Witchtape 4

Lots of shenanigans in this one! I love the mix of fixed, bmx, and skating but I think there should have been more fixed.

14 Bike Co. Friday the 25th Ride

These guys know some of the sickest spots in the UK. I would love to find somewhere in OC with a bank to rail. Just shorter than the one in this video because I don't think my hop are that high...yet!

Niko Jow Winter Edit

Niko is laying down some solid moves in this edit. All the park riding is sick. I've never ridden a park yet but my goal is to go really soon. Unfortunately, it's supposed to rain this weekend so I'm not gonna get much riding in. On the bright side, the weather forecast says that its supposed to snow a little bit so I've got my fingers crossed for snow in OC.

Butchers Are Here!

Eighth Inch just received their shipment of their FGFS frame, the Butcher. If you pre-ordered one, expect it to be shipped out today although they won't actually ship till after the weekend. If you want one and haven't ordered, visit the Eighth Inch website, they're only $300.

FGLDN ISPO

Oscar Khan brings the heat where ever he goes! His threes are smooth and his style is really big. Chris' style is pretty bomb too but its a lot different than Oscars. It reminds me of Trial riding, its dope!

Bangin' Bikes: SBR's Unknown V2 26"

Unknown stepping their game up! Although they are a fairly new company, they put out some sick ass products. Sean's new V2 frame is looking really fresh. With its beefy tires, negative bottom bracket, and great barspin clearance, this bike looks like a dream. I also really dig that Unknown Prototype fork. If this was my bike, I would slam that rear wheel though, I love having a tight wheelbase. Another thing I don't really like is those bars, at least cosmetically. I love S&M as a company but theres just something about those bars I don't like. Despite that, I bet the 5 inch rise feels really nice coupled with the negative bottom bracket. You can see more pictures of the build on Unknown's Blog.

New All-City Hubs and Sprocket!

I was so excited to see these new All-City parts up on Prolly's Blog. Ever since I rode their double clips and straps when I mashed, I've been a huge fan. They really did not let me down with these new products. In my opinion, this is the cleanest looking splined sprocket on the market. As for strength, I know nothing so it would be great if one of their riders chimed in. As for the new 14mm hubs, I am also quite impressed. They look clean and beefy and All-City created them with a 48mm chainline so that your chainline won't be effed up. I would love to see more pictures and information!

Schmitt for Burro

I'm really digging this Burro Straps ad featuring Mike Schmitt! I consider Mike Schmitt the originator of dual 26' set-ups and he has gone so far since his OG Leader TRK setup. Since then, he hasn't stopped innovating and now, him and Grime are setting the bar for FGFS riders everywhere!

The Mind of Kevin #11

I just found this song not too long ago and I'm really digging it. Props to both artists for putting it down but, I must say, I prefer Eric Turner's part of the song. In my opinion, if there was more of him and less of Tinie Tempah, it would be even better.

Fixtape #4

I'm liking this quick little video. Ronnie and 407 get down but the thing that I thought was cool was their sponsor. For those of you who don't know, Go Pro is an action sports camera company. It would be cool to see more videos with them, they give a really dope perspective on riding!

BB17's P.D.P

BB17 will be holding a FGFS event called "Pedal It Don't Push It." this will be on March 20th in Taipei. Taiwan gets down so you know that this will be one killer event. Their is also gonna be some super sick pro riders there, so I'm pretty stoked on an edit!

Murdered Out All-City Def Wish

Murdered out bikes are ridiculously clean. I saw this Def Wish build up on the All-City Flikr and I'm really digging it. I'm loving that bottom bracket drop along with the tight wheelbase and fat tire clearances. Another thing I like on this bike are those bars. I'm not sure what model they are or if they're the new All-City ones but either way, they're looking super sexy!

ACT-03[1]

The Mind of Kevin #10

This guy is hilarious! I think this is his funniest video in a while. Justin Bieber hate is everywhere recently and although these haters make some good points, you can't avoid the fact that this kid is super talented. He may sound like a 12 year old girl but that doesn't mean he's not talented. His songs may be contradicting but that doesn't stop them from being catchy. One thing that I can't let slide though is that he stole my future girlfriend, Selena Gomez.

Putting the LDG Kaos to Work

One of my local bikes shops, Livery Design Gruppe, puts out some dope shit. From the velodrome to the streets, they got it all. Their newest FGFS frame, the Kaos is looking really promising. Although, when eeing these pictures, thats not what I noticed. They thing that stood out for me was that fork. It's an interesting take on FGFS Forks, I wonder how it holds up! See more on the LDG Blog.

Colby Elrick: Matt Montoya

Matt is such a beast. He throws 180's off of the biggest things and his lines are fresh. I'm loving the end to this video real funny stuff!

21st Avenue Bike Shop Tour

This made me laugh. I love the videos 21st Avenue Bicycles puts out. They really portray the thing I love most about local bike shops which is the employees. They're all close and it really makes you enjoy your visit.

God Bless Losers #1

Man, this brings me back. A little background information, I began riding in 2008 when fixed gears started becoming popular, and yes, I was in the first wave of hipsters. At that time, the big thing was mashing and being a bike messenger and this video really brought be back to those OG days. Nowadays, all the hipster kids are getting into tricking and looking up to those tricksters instead. I really do miss having a fast bike, maybe I'll get one once I get a job maybe this summer?

Seoul Got Soul: Save the Bike Lane

DK Shop always kills it with the filming and the editing. In this latest bit, they are attempting to raise awareness on the diminishing bike lanes in Seoul. I think this is a problem that every cyclists has to deal with. I can't even count how many times I've almost been hit by a car just because we have to share a lane. Drivers think they own the streets and don't care about anything other than getting to their destination. Hopefully this awareness in Seoul will open up some eyes in places all over the world.

Chrome Kursk Pro

Chrome's newest product of this year is the Kursk Pro. I actually received a pair of the normal Kursks through one of their promotions last year. I rode in them for a while but they weren't that great with my homemade straps so I switched over to the SK8 Mids. Thats probably my only complaint about them though. They were extremely comfy, durable, and the flexed in all the right places. Ohh and they fit real nice into clips and leather straps. This new model, with its SPD compatibility, should be a hit. I highly recommended the Kursks for people still with clips and if anyone purchases this new pro model, email me, I would love to get a review of these bad boys up.

RideBLT Sunday Edit Dos

The thing I love about riding fixed is that it's so relaxing. I just feel so connected to my bike and to the world around me no matter where that is. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who feels like my problems disappear on a ride. Usually, I only get this feeling when I'm on my bike but this video changed that. As I watched the video, things just became less tense. Its defintily worth the watch!

Wheel Talk X Grime

So many good riders in this Wheeltalk X Grime edit. These guys are developing the sport at an unbelievable rate. If you were to ask me to do any of those tricks on a fixed gear a year ago, I would've just laughed. But now, these two crews are stepping up their game, doing bigger moves, going faster, and its crazy. They're really putting all of the FGFS haters to shame. I really enjoyed every little bit of this one, it makes me proud to be a FGFS rider.

The Mind of Kevin #9

Man these guys are so gooooood! My cousin showed them to me a long while back but I never really began listening to them until recently. As of late, they've been going quite mainstream. I've heard them in commercials, in movies, and everywhere else! I'm stoked for their sudden popularity they really deserve it with their unique style and sound. This is probably my favorite song from them.

Build The Beast: Jesse's Volume Thrasher

Videos like this never stop entertaining me. I love being able to see something built up and ever since my first part broke, I've loved working on bikes. Prolly really captures the wonders of "building the beast" although I wish their was more riding after Jesse finished building it.

SNDTRCK Paris February Edit

Sndtrck is laying down some super solid lines in this bit. They're going faster and bigger, I love it. Hopefully, they'll come out with a new edit every month, it'll really allow us to see their progression.

Alfredo Mancuso: Building Check

This may not be fixed gear related but it really deserves some recognition. It's such a sick shot! Alfredo works at a local bike shop of mine, Epic Bmx. He's a super chill guy and he shreds! This pictures is all you need to believe that.

Bangin' Bikes: TDHK's Nem-Pro

This bike has some mad steeze! The obvious thing that I think we all admire is the Nem-Pro frame. Brad does a damn good job at creating frames. That blue and black color scheme is bomb although its similar to Swoo's as well as another Foreign rider (don't remember exactly who). Also, that gearing looks way too spinny for my preference. Nonetheless, it's a beautiful setup that I truely admire.

Thrash Promo

It seems like the FGFS scene in Stockton is really taking off. I've been seeing a bunch of edits and the riders are everywhere. I'm also stoked on when the Thrash full length edit is released. Their are some really good riders and I would love to see them push themselves for our entertainment!

My Daily: Back At It

I have been extremely busy recently and just this Friday, I began to regain my free time. Since I have been super stressed out, I dubbed this weekend my lazy days. I would relax, watch movies, and get some riding in. Unfortunately, it has rained Friday and today so I haven't got a lot of riding in, but I did go out and ride for around an hour today. Oddly enough, this is the longest I've been out in 2 weeks. I kind of lost the stuff I was working on before so today was more of a just get back into it kind of sesh. Nothing new, just polishing things up. For one, I'm trying to get hop bars down again and as of now, I probably land around 80% of them. I also tried landing more nose pivot sliders and really worked on doing everything at higher speed. Overall, it wasn't a really progessive sesh but it still was fun to get back out there. On another note, I ordered my new camera Friday so expect a lot more pictures. I hate using my Iphone a a camera, the quality is doody. Also, tomorrow I am purchasing a truing stand so watch out for a review on that! Sorry I haven't been blogging 100% everybody. Since I'm not super busy, its time to progress again!

The Mind of Kevin #8

Holy poop! My sister is 10 just like this girl, why can't she sing this good! Lady Gaga may be a freak but her songs are super catchy and apparently, she captures a large variety of listeners.

Bike Porn: Yamaguchi

This is a thing of beauty. I'm really digging the lighting and the scenery, it really captures the essence of the bike. Plus, that is one beautiful frame and the components really do it justice. Although, If this were my bike, I'd change the bar tape, I prefer Fizik Tape.

Bangin' Bikes: Lucas' Charmer

Wow just wow. These Charmer frames are probably the cleanest looking frames on the market as of now. I am seriously in love with every little bit. It just seems like the perfect 700c frame, with its tight rear end, great tire clearance, and great barspin clearance, without making the toptube uncomfortably long. All of their riders are also putting out solid builds and Lucas' is no exception.

Felix for Sadio

Sadio just picked up Felix Dol from Geometrick. This little bit makes me want more! I Hate/love how the don't let us see the who grind just the initial. Maybe these guys will throw together a longer edit soon.

RatsKL: Rayyiu Radzi

Usually I don't like straight up riding videos but I actually really enjoyed this one. I love the bike, I love the tunnels and it's beautifully put together.

The Mind of Kevin #7

If you have been following my posts, a while back I posted the song Price Tag. I loved the original but I think this guy might have just topped the original. He is so talented its friggin' ridiculous! Definitely worth your time, so watch the video and subscribe to his youtube page! On another note, I'm selling my PS3 today and that will be the money I need to buy a camera. I'm tired of taking pictures with my Iphone. I'm not sure which model or if I should even dish out the extra for a DSLR but we'll see. Either way, a lot more pictures to come.

Bay-Sicz Tyler Louie

This guy is progressing so fast it's kind of rediculous. Theres some good filming and some super solid riding. Lets see some more from Bay-Sicz.

Jonathan Davis: Scraps

Davis has been around for a long time but I don't remember many edits from him. I'm glad he through these "scraps" together, it really shows what he has. I'm loving that kicker over the bush. The action shot of that was legit!

Pedal Hard Winter Edit

This makes me want to go out and ride. These guys have some super solid moves and I love that bleacher grind. Although, is it just me or does the first guy, Jake Janich's, seat look broken? Other than that I'm really digging it, props for putting out a solid edit.

Before And After

For some reason, I really dig this. I like how you can see all the components laid out and then be able to see the final product. I wouldn't mind seeing this sort of picture for different parts. That'd be super cool!

BB17: Charmer Production Build

This frame is ridiculously clean. It's one frame that still has bottom bracket drop which I think is great! Sometimes I think negative bottom bracket is over rated. Apart from that, the seat tube cut out is boss and it looks to have a super tight wheelbase. I can't wait for these bad boys to hit the states so I can see more build pictures!

Daniel and Micheal V-Day Edit

If you don't have a lady friend on Valentine's Day what do you do? You ride bikes of course! Daniel and Micheal threw this little edit together of their sausage fest Valentine's Day and it looks pretty fun. There are some sick spots in this one. It reminds me that I need to go spot searching around OC again.

That Kid Nunez

That nollie off the stairs was legit! It makes me wanna go out and ride but unluckily for me, I have to study for a presentation and its drizzling.

Steveland Cleaner Now Available!

Brad over at Nem-Pro just released the information that his new 26' specific frame, the Steveland Cleaner, is now avalible for purchase. Nem-Pro Frames are probably one of my favorites. Brad is a genius when it comes to geometry and the quality and craftsmanship is unheard of. On this specific frame, I like the super tight wheelbase. It'll pop up like a dream! The intro prices are also really solid. If you order before march 15th, it will only be $550 with Nem-Tek tubbing. If your interested in purchasing a frame, email Brad at Brad@nemesisproject.com and if you want to see more information, go over to the Trick Track Topic.

The Mind of Kevin #6

This video is just genius. The weird thing about it is that the guy who installed my new internet showed it to me. You may have to watch it more than once in order to completely understand everything but it really is great. CATCH PHRASE!

Welcome Home!

I'm back from one of the most amazing weekends of my life! I miss the mountains and all the friends I made but luckily for me, coming home wasn't terrible because I arrived home to see this edit from Marco. This is my favorite edit from this year. He doesn't just throw his bike around. His lines have a lot of thought and he makes the big moves really smooth instead of just chucking his bike. Theres way to many things I like so watch the entire thing!

Back Sunday!

The reason for the lack of posts recently is that I'm leading a church retreat this weekend and I had to take care of a bunch of things. Apart from riding fixed, another big part of my life is helping out my church and that means leading this retreat. I'll be leaving almost immediately after school so this will be my last post until Sunday night. Once I get back, I have a bunch of things I wanna post so stay tunned. Stuff that you won't want to miss. I will also be purchasing the URL soon so stay tunned for that. Big things are gonna come out from Gnarnia Bikes when I get back. I think after mid next week, my schedule clears up and I'll be able to post a lot more. Thank you all you supporters and daily readers I'll talk to you in a few days!

Steven Jensen's Halloween Edit

Steven's bmx background really carried into his fixed gear ridding. He throw super fluid barspins and he really goes big. Additionally, that fakie wheelie was legit, I'v never seen anyone do one as long as Jensen.

Bangin' Bikes: Cogwei's Charmer

Every little bit of this set up is amazing. That Charmer frame is top notch no doubt and I am really digging the Fit DLD stem with BB17 Bar combo. I haven't seen much from Cogwei recently so lets hope that he throws out an edit soon.

DSC02061

Unknown Bikes: Low Flange Hubs

This thing looks super classy! Another great product from Unknown. The thing I love about Unknown is that they are fairly new yet they put out some of the best products and have really mad a nam for themselves in our community. Pick These bad boys up in Unknown's Store.

Deathgrip: Winter Edit

FGFS is on fir with edits recently. The most recent one is this one from Deathgrip. That fall looks brutal! You'll know which one I'm talking about once you watch the video.

Christian Hamrick in HD

This is the first time I've seen Christian ride and I am pretty impressed. He's got major flow and he pulls off some big moves. That indoor skatepark bit was sweet and I love all the stairs.

Andrew Voegeli For Unknown Bikes

Unknown Bikes has jut picked up Voegeli for their team. I love how diverse their team is, each rider has their own style and flare. Voegeli goes big and fast and he's not too shabby at tech either. A while back, I remember he won the DAMP Butterbean Contest and was supposed to be on their team. I wonder what happed with that. Since they never got him that frame, he's been tearing the crap out of his Scissor and as we can see now, he completely destroyed it. This is the kind of abuse a Brand neds. A rider like this will really put the products to the test. Congrats Andrew you kick ass.

The Mind of Kevin #5

I really enjoyed watching this video. This guy is crazy talented. He started off doing a few acapella covers on Youtube and now he's off working with big time producers like Timbaland. Big props to this guy!

Bangin' Bikes: Matt Spencer's Leader

Matt Spencer is one of the riders showing the world that 700c is just as good as 26'. I love his style and speed and he deserves all of these sponsors. To me, the one thing that stood out on Matt's bike was the Congoloid Bars. I posted on these a while back and it's awesome to actually see them on a bike, they look super clean. The Resist Staple stem is also looking really nice. I usually don't like top load stems but Resist is such an awesome company that they get an exception. Also, when I was looking for new grips, I was about to buy those Cult Grips but I ended up going with ODI Longneck Xl's instead which I really like. If you want to see more pictures of Matt Spencer's whip, visit the Resist Parts Website.

Wonka's Out Here

Wow just wow. This is exactly the direction FGFS needs to go. There's such big moves, such fast riding, just everything is perfect. Grime really is a game changer. There is way too much to mention but for one, the 3's are crazy. Just watch it if you want your mind blown. And I'm about to go to school right now so I might update this post when I get back home.

Santos and Boothby for Resist

Two of the best riders in the game putting an edit together, what a dream come true. These two are shredding it for Resist. They really put the parts to the test which results in high quality products for us the consumer.

Eighth Inch Butcher On 26'

With so many people riding 26' on 700c frames, I'm sure a big question is what size 26 tires the Eighth Inch Butcher can fit. Kris, over at Locked Cog, posted this picture of his bike with 2.15 Maxxis tires. He doesn't say anything about extra wiggle room but in my opinion, 2 inch tires a sufficient for anything we do. I also think that this is one of the better looking 700c frames on 26. The gap between the wheel and the seat tube isn't huge and the bottom bracket doesn't seem too shabby. On another note, if I am not mistaken, Kris is now running the Eighth Inch Freestyle Fork. Not much information has come out on it but I'm sure they will release some info really soon.

Sweathogs Winter Edit

Today really is just a wonderful day for edits. The newest addition to this line up is Sweathog's winter edit. These guys are holding it down for Texas. AJ Austin kills it in this one. He's throwing bars everywhere and the bit at 3:23 was tits. I'm disappointed that there wasn't more from Tony Fast though and I wish John Prolly was actually ridding!

The Mind of Kevin #4

I think I'm going to combine Mind of Kevin with Riding Music, it just seems easier. A song I found today was Price Tag by Jessie J. It has a laid back chill vibe while still having a good beat. Jessie J is a fairly new artist but I see her going big real soon. This song will definitely be on replay!

Funny's style is unbelievable. His speed is ridiculous and its no secret that he is one of the best tech riders. Not only is he good at tech but he throws a little park riding in this one too. Either way, Nasty is one of my favorite riders.

SE Tour Recap

Today is just an amazing day for edits. Next up is the SE Tour Recap. These guys shred. I love Boothby and DJ's big moves, Gus' Grinds, and Marwins tech. All this together creates a hell of an edit. I love the dual ice pick, I feel like that would be an awesome picture and if they did capture it, it would be a killer ad.

Iminusd in San Francisco

Iminusd has such a killer team of riders. Not only do they shred, but they also put out some of the best web edits in the game. Anthony and Matt's tree rides were legit and I'm really digging Scott's Grinds. Overeall, it' a killer video and prop to all the riders.

Skitch: Forgotten Footage

This is such a sick edit. Even though they're all left over old clips, there is some crazy stuff. Theres a few things in this edit that I really like but one is all of the riders. Each one has their own style and flow and it makes for a really good edit. Tom La Marche's nose mannys are also super sick. He has such good bike control its amazing. Wonka is also throwing it down like uual, especially in that last bit.

My Daily: New Grips

I've been super busy recently, I don't even remember with what, but I haven't got much ridding in. Track season is almost starting so thats taking a huge chunk of my time but, I commute to school and different meet up spots so at least I'm on my bike. One thing that disappoints me that I'm the only kid at my school who rides FGFS, I need some people to push my riding. The majority of the kids at my school are dilts who think that riding around your neighborhood counts as a ride. Keep in mind that these kids ride around their neighborhood with helmets and brakes. I'm all for safety but how bad can you really get hurt going less than a mile. On the bright side, I just bought some new grips, ODI Longneck XL's, I really liked how long they were and I figure after one side wears down, I can just flip it. My first impression of them was that they were stiff but comfortable. I'm sure when I break them in, they'll be amazing but we'll see. Keep your eyes on the blog for a review of them. I should also be buying the domain soon and a tutorial may be coming out very soon.

RYD Welcomes Geoff

Geoff is the newest addition to the RYD team and I must say, they are very lucky. This guy has some pretty sick moves. He's got mad hops and his grinds are solid. I'm also digging the foot jam tail whip. Looks like Sean just lost some of his limelight.

Welcome to the Team: Geoff from Sean Coats on Vimeo.

Mike Dinh for Leader Bikes 2011

OC local Mike Dinh is holding it down in this one. He shreds and he really deserves the Leader sponsorship. Much better than RYD. It is apparent that Mike Dinh is probably one of the best riders at hop bars. He lands them smooth and throws them everywhere, its ridiculous! I'm still trying to get them down, I land them most of the time but I don't think mine are smooth enough to call consistent yet.

Brad Downie: Scraps

Brad is such a banger. That fall on the hill looked brutal but he redeemed himself by landing the next time. The grinds are also on point and overall a good edit. Brad is launching his 26inch fixed website soon so I will update you guys when that launches. I'm super stoked to see what he has in store.

Bmore Fixed: Lately/Finally

I'm so grateful for Cali Weather. Today it was around 75, it was super nice and toasty although I didn't get to ride at all. I would hate to have to deal with snow, it seems like such a hassle. Despite this barrier, the riders of Baltimore come out with a super solid edit. Definitly worth the wait and watch.

Planet Hops: 2011

This is probably one of my favorite edits so far, everything just works. The slo-mo is awesome and these guys really go big. It's a really big inspiration to see videos like this, more please!

The Mind of Kevin #3

Sorry for the lack of these posts, I'm going to start doing them a lot more! My current obsession right now is Carmel deLite Girl Scout cookies. These things are the shit! They're more addicting than cocaine. I bought two boxes and I finished a box in like an hour but now, I'm trying to pace myself but I'm already halfway through the box. I guess I'm going to have to track down some more girl scouts...

c_Caramel delites_3qrtr

Alex S and Tommy Mao

Pretty sick edit coming from an Iphone 4. Theres some really solid grinds and I love all those stairs. Doing it big for sure!

Swoo's Complete Charmer

This frame/setup looks soooo good. The bottom bracket height looks perfect, the dropouts are beefy, the top tube goes down a good amount, the clearance is boss, and Swoo's paint job is real nice. This frame might have just kicked out the Unknown frame as my favorite 26er but we'll see. Those two frames are really amazing and are the right step for FGFS. Check out more over on Constant Rev.

Erik VehMeyer Throwaway Clips

Erik threw together his left over night clips into this one. Even when it's dark, you can tell he shreds. I love that 360 out of the bank, really solid!

RatsKL: DVD Teaser

Man am I stoked for this one. RatsKL puts it down when it comes to edits and now they are going to be working towards releasing a full length DVD. It is definitely going to be a super solid movie and I can't wait. Check out more HERE.

Nu Cult: Frozen Sesh

Here is the newest bit from Nu Cult. I love that roof section and this guy can really spin! That fall of the last grind also looked brutal, I would hate to be in his shoes.

Swoo' Painted Charmer's Clearance

Usually, spray paint turns out like crap but Swoo actually did a really good job. I'm loving that blue color way and I'm loving the frame even more! Swoo's running a 2.3 Kenda Kiniption and as you can see their is still some wiggle room. I also like how the chainstay bridge is pushed all the way back. The pro of this is that it strengthens the chainstay and it doesn't get in the way of your fat tires. He needs to stop teasing us and post up a full picture! Check out more on Constant Rev.

MixtMeat: Son of a Bitch

Solid riding from Jordan in this one. I'm digging the tire slide on the stairs I kinda want to try that out!

Bangin' Bikes: Tom Mosher's Vandal

At first, I didn't really like the Vandal but it is sort of growing on me. This is expecially the case with Mosher's bike. I love the rusty, used, winter look it gives the bike so much character. This is just the prototype, Volume is raising the seat tube on the production model which I think will make the bike look sick. I also really really want that rear resist hub, I wanna grind really bad! See more pictures over at Resist Parts.

P Fixed Med V2

Slum says that this is pretty close to the production model and I must say, I am extremely impressed. Everything looks amazing! I like it all but a few things deserve to be mentioned. First of all, there's minimum bottom bracket rise, which I highly prefer over skyscraper bottom brackets. The frame also has some of the best rear ends I have ever seen. The dropouts are clean, it has S bend chain stays, and the wheelbase looks on point. I'm also loving that new female front hub. Last but not least, the build has P-Fix V1 straps which I would assume to be just as strong as the rest ofthe build. This whole set-up is just amazing, once it hits production, it'll be a really big step for FGFS. Check out the details on Slumworm's Blog.

Feather Cycles: Anchor Bridge

This is so classy! I love frames that stray from traditional brake bridges. Feather Cycles, hand carved this anchor out of stainless steel. I think it looks beautiful and I can't wait to see the whole thing built up. Man, I just starred at this thing for a long while, it's just so gorgeous I can't comprehend it. I saw this over on Prolly's first but if you want to see more pictures check Feather Cycle's Flikr and if you want a frame, go to their website.

W-Base: This is How We Roll

W-Base has such a killer team. All of the riders are so fast and techy, its unbelievable. Their style really influences me and I think more riders over here should adopt some of their styles of riding.

Riding Music: This is Home by Switchfoot

Growing up, one of my favorite bands was Switchfoot. This began to diminish after a while but then my love for them hit a high point again when I saw them live in concert. They were one of the better bands to see lives. Correction, they were freakin' amazing. One song that I've been listening to a lot recently is "This is Home". It's got a smooth little vibe and it just helps you relax. Be sure to listen to the song and if you have the chance to see them live, jump on that opportunity! Ohh and it just so happens that it was on the Chronicles of Narnia (not Gnarnia) Soundtrack. That wasn't on purpose but its still a cool little coincidence.

SE Tour: Day 4

I'm looking forward to these edits everyday. Lingo is the man for putting these out everyday this week. Boothby's rail hop was the shit and it just gets me so stoked for the Tour Edit!

Bangin' Bikes: Kenny's Destroy Bikes "Heathen"

Destroy Bike's latest project was Kenny's "Heathen". This company builds some of the sickest custom frames on the FGFS market and for a reasonable price at that. Kenny's new whip include up to 2.3 tire clearances as well as a negative 1 inch bottom bracket. In my opinion, that is too much rise. If I were to ride a negative bottom bracket frame, I would want just enough to clear grinds maybe a little bit more. Other than that, this frame looks amazing! The welds are super clean and the craftsmanship is just beautiful. Kenny also has two others so hit up PFG for more information. Or check out Destroy's Tumblr for your own custom frame.

SNDTRCK January Edit

Theres some smooth lines in this one. They got some of the stuff I've been working on down, I'm pretty jealous. The move in the end was pretty sick so watch the whole thing!

Matt Spencer's Single Spotter

Matt is so killer. Even though it's just one spot, Matt hits different moves throughout the whole video. I think Spencer is one of the only guys that can pull this off, what a beast!

Swoo's Much Anticipated Charmer

Swoo just received his Charmer Frameset and its looking mighty fine. It even looks better than what I thought it would be like. Those 14mm Dropouts are ridiculously beefy and the tubbing looks big and strong. I'm really excited to see this frame all built up. BB17 also hooked Swoo up with some other new parts. Being sponsored really has its perks! You can see more over at his BLOG.

DSC_0573

Nasty's Signature Frame

W-Base hooked Nasty up proper with his own signature frame. The thing that I love most about this frame is the tight tire clearance in the front, I think that looks a lot cleaner than having a fat gap. The front end also looks really tight, it looks like you would have ridding toe overlap which was something that really sucked on my Cutter. I also really like the tapered seat tube, with the increase of FGFS riders slamming their seat, It's a good way to reduce weight. The chainstay bridge is also quite the beauty. I saw this over on Prolly's first butt you can see more stuff over at W-Base.

A Look Back: Mike Dinh's Gorilla Kilroy

Although Gorilla went out of business and the Kilroy frames weren't exactly the strongest, I still think they were one of the better looking frames on the market. At it's peak, it had the biggest tire clearances and was the frame that almost everyone wanted. It's cool to look at this and see how far fixed gear freestyle has grown. Almost every frame on the market has tire clearances like the Kilroy now as well as a longer top tube and higher bottom bracket. At this momment in time, the Kilroy seems like an antique although I still think it's curves are super sexy. I wish Gorilla was still in business so they could create an updated version. I think the frame looks so clean. Mike Dinh always has sweet setups and this is one of my favorites of his.

Please Don't Touch My Junk

This is one of the funniest youtube videos I've seen in a while. I don't want to spoil anything so just watch!

Erik VehMeyer Blk Mrkt Winter Edit

Erik is a local around here and everyone knows he shreds. I think this edit is kind of funny because it's sort of a slap in the face to everywhere cold. Other riders are complaining about the snow and low temperatures whereas her in OC, its almost always sunny and the lowest it gets is like 60. This edit just shows everyone what an OC winter is. Other than that, Erik lays down some sick line. I love the intro jump into the river bed and all of those half cabs off of things are legit. That Yamaha place was where I wanted to ride before but they were open when I went unfortunately.

SE Tour: Day 2

This looks like such a good time! Touring looks like it would be the bet. All you do is eat sleep and ride with some close friends. Marwin is one of my favorite riders because his style is so fluid. I remember meeting him at an Organ Donors Event and he's such a character. At first that quad frame seemed awkward to me but it's sorta growing on me. Another thing that stood out in this video, for me, was DJ's Nose manual, that thing was smooth like butter. I'm really excited to see a full length edit!

Taylor Dwight Scraps

It's good to see another Taylor Edit. This guy is way too good. The stalls on the benches were super gnarly. I tried doing those one time and it really isn't as easy as it looks. Taylor's also got those 180 bars on lock and he's throwing them everywhere.

Nicolas Zanoni Winter Edit

I see this guy getting really good really fast. To me, it seems like he has some cool moves but the one thing thats missing is the speed. I'm sure once he get more comfortable he'll be hauling ass!
