Grime Bikes: G.O.A.T. 26" Proto
Grime has been setting the bar for FGFS for the longest time and their newest venture is the G.O.A.T. Frame. So far I'm loving most of the things about this frame. For one, it has a shorter chain stay that the Yo Mang. I'm all about the tight wheelbase, I think it feels and acts a lot better. Another thing I love is the minimal bottom bracket rise. Sky scrapper bottom brackets are a definiete no-no in my books. Cosmetically it also looks really nice although I'm iffy about the integrated seatpost clamp. In my opinion, they look nicer but you're screwed if you strip it out. Despite all of these good things, the one thing that I don't understand is their choice of not having a gusset. There have been countless frames that have broken due to a lack of a gusset. Although I believe that Grime knows what they're doing, a gusset would make me, and probably plenty more people, feel more reassured in abusing the frame. Check out more pics and info on the GRIME BLOG. Ohh yeaa and its gonna be really competitively priced which I'm super stoked about! The rider based geometry combined with a low price equals heaven!
